What does “fair and objective” mean?

This site has two types of complementary reviews. The first type is a subjective review that provides you with an example of what working with the hosting provider is like.

The second type of review is one in which hosting providers are evaluated on meaningful measurable and non-subjective criteria. Ongoing hosting performance is measured and presented in comparisons and reviews. By comparing actual website performance you will be able to make informed decisions about what hosting provider will best suit your website’s needs.

Are your reviews better than reviews on other sites?

The reviews on this site generally offer something different than what you get in reviews elsewhere. The reviews at this site focus on technical performance factors.

Is this a commercial web site?

This site does generate income from affiliate marketing. This does not increase prices for you in any way.

The web hosts presented and reviewed here are generally selected through word of mouth reputation. If a web host has generated unsolicited positive reviews and offers suitable services (standard hosting plans that meet certain minimum feature standards) they may be considered for inclusion.

After the host has been selected for review an affiliate relationship may be formed between this site and the provider if such a program is offered. This relationship does not influence the review process. Evidence of this lack of influence can be seen in the high rankings of non affiliated web hosts.

As of May 2008, this site is run as a hobby and operates at a minor loss.
